Domain Name Examples

When an AcuteApplet is run from a web-server, it will get the domain name from the address field of the browser:

Then it tries to match the domain name with any of the keys in the Domain-Keys parameter. If the applet is unable to find a valid key, it will display the nag-screen before starting.

In the registration form, you have to enter all domain names that can be used in order to access the applet within a site. See the examples below for details:

Example 1:
Single Domain Web Site

If AcuteApplets are going to be used at the www.hand.com site, then you just write that in the "Main Domain" field. The applets will automatically be unlocked for hand.com as well.
Example 2:
Web Site with Alias Domains
If the site from Example 1 also can be accessed using www.hand.org and www.fist.com, then write those domain names in the "Alias Domains" fields.
Example 3:
Web Sites with IP Address
If the web servers IP address is used for accessing the site, then add that as an alias as well.
Example 4:
Intranet Site
If AcuteApplets are going to be used at an intranet server, then register the intranet server name (as you would type it in the browsers address field).
